The Garfield Lake Association is a non-profit organization formed in 2018 and is registered with the Minnesota Secretary of State. We are an IRS 501c(4) Social Organization.
Membership in the association is open to anyone with an interest in Garfield Lake and the desire to help support the mission of the organization. The annual dues remain at $30 annually. New members form can be completed and mailed to join.
The association holds annual membership meetings in Laporte, Minnesota, generally in May, and is open to all members and interested persons.
The association has a board of directors consisting of up to nine members, who serve three year terms, and who elect officers of the board. The officer positions in include President, President Elect, Treasurer and Secretary. The board meets frequently during the year and communicates it’s activities to the members by email updates.

Some of major activities since inception have included:
- Established annual water quality testing program
- Established joint partnership with local city/townships to fund additional Aquatic Invasive Species Boat Landing Inspections
- Organized effort to rebuild the Laporte City Boat Landing funded by generous donations of services and materials
- Joined Hubbard County Coalition of Lake Associations
